October 9 Projectionist Picks and Cropping

A "portrait" orientation from JdG changed below (scroll down) to a landscape.
the original picture (from JdG from Grand Rapids) Ideally  the pictures need to be "sideways" if you are thinking of sending some in for possible use. But we will be using two great pictures from this one!!

The original: the sign is not helpful the trees are too white.

Check the cropped picture - scroll down

Such a great picture. The copped picture is below.
Teamwork! My pictures, Projectionist's pick, Praise Team using this cymbal, Song = Come Now is the time to Worship

A Cropped picture from JdG for the song There is a Redeemer. A powerful statement.

A cropped Picture from JdG for the song Lord I want to be a Christian. Simple yet effective.

Not used, but to show the original vs the cropped.

A Mexico Sunset from JdG used for Praised Be the Father. Such color! The highlights at the top worked well.

Going to be great when used (not today) Check difference with  the original

Used for the song (JdG's) Alleluia, Alleluia! Give Thanks

Used for the Offering. a Lot of photoshop going on in this picture

September 4... Now on the blog!

Just a pretty picture. Too much White for a background.

Another pretty picture. But probably wouldn't make a great background for words on the screen in church.

This is the cropped picture that was used during the Baptisim

I used this for "Blessed be your Name". I thought the two trees and the division in the sky echoed the words....
BLESSED BE YOUR NAME
by Matt and Beth Redman

You give and take away,  My heart will choose to say,
Lord, blessed be Your name.

Ok... a bit "iffy" The song is "Church of God, Elect and Glorious" Maybe you will think of wood and building, but God is doing the growing...
CHURCH OF GOD ELECT AND GLORIOUS

Could be used for Thy Word is a Lamp unto my Feet and a light unto my Path.

The Welcome Screen... Dark Background, small flower interest in the corner.

An extra picture I sent in  -used for the doxology. I like it that the first picture and last were both mountains. I want to take out the roof though.

Imagine the white words on the green trees!

O WORSHIP THE KING (PH 428)

O worship the King
all glorious above,

an extra picture

Never heard of this song.... King of obvious PIcture choice for it. The lettering has to be black...
THERE’S A SPIRIT IN THE AIR

There’s a SPIRIT in the air,
Telling Christians everywhere:
“Praise the love that Christ revealed,
living, working in our world.”

A night shot of light through the trees for the song

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path.

The Welcome Screen - Theme is Mountains/Jasper

Praise My Soul the King of Heaven - Mountain pictures lend themselves to praise songs.

Not sure what this was for anymore... but the idea of dark space for the white test is clear.

a church in Jasper... for Apostle's Creed

I don't want to use pictures of people at this point. At least the foot is on "sand" which sort of works with the theme...
Take my life and let it be... Take my feet and let them move etc... (but that's the "old" version of the words)

Ordination of elders and deacons. Sort of churchey... hard to cover ALL what ordination involves in a picture!

You servants of our Lord was the song. Blue sky works well for the white text.

I come with Joy to meet my Lord. I am not familiar with this song. Another time I might have used something signifying communion (as per the song) but Jesus is the bridge to God... so there it is.

A great song. No need for distraction.

IN CHRIST ALONE

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this cornerstone, this solid ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My comforter, my all in all,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

I always send in extra pictures to the Projection People. They have veto power over the pictures, which really makes it a team effort. I so appreciate the second opinion!

Lift up your Heart unto the Lord.
well, what do you think? a sub-theme of canoes?
No just trying to tie it together with the mountains.

Not the best picture. If anyone complains... this might be "it". the Song is Here I Am Lord...
Same theory as the earlier song, Take my life.
One thing! it might make people think with the almost doubling of the foot picture

The church is one Foundation. I like all the "parts" of this picture, all "working together". The symbol is for the Trinity. From my last set of pictures, you should know it is a wooden pulpit.

October 2, 2011

1. Starting with the Welcome Screen, you can see the theme is Fall (yellow). This week I noticed how the Scripture and many of the songs involved contrasts. Gentiles vs Jews; Wall vs no wall; Waiting vs Strength; peace vs war; sin vs God; envy&pride vs joy; earth vs heaven. In a dream world, I would make the theme of the pictures "Contrasts".

2. All Creatures of our God and King. Covers creatures, sun, dawn, lights of evening...

3. Psalm 100 and the rest of All Creatures. Covers flowers/fruits, but not People.

4. Everlasting God. Hmm petrified wood would have been better, but there might be a contrast - dead leaf - wood - everlasting God who made it.

5. Hope of the Nations. Sunflowers are just so upbeat. A photo from Chris S.

6. We Fall Down. Gold cross as per crowns in song.

7 Children leave for Power Hour. Ok it is my grandson some time ago, but it IS a Fall picture! and I do have "permission".

8. An option for the Scripture text. Our own windows. As always... discretion of the projectionist.

9. God of Every Nation. Photo of a monotone painting from Cuba.

10. Prayers of God's people

11. Offering (not including budget)

12. Statement of Faith

13. Song: Eat this Bread

14. Song: As we Gather at your Table... not my picture, but one of a set we have. Quite a "contrast" to my pictures above.

15. Sing Choirs of New Jerusalem

16. Forever by Brian Doerkson

18. Mighty to Save. The concept of ending with a sunset has some merit, but maybe better if we were charged with the dawn to go forth!

Optional for whatever doesn't show up well on the Overhead

optional for Scripture Text

another option. The Projection Team can see what looks good with text in front.
